Wishlist : Terminator 5

August 21, 2009 1 comment

Before I begin my continuation on the Terminator topic, heres a small synopsis of McG’s vision for the sequel:

In statements to FilmJournal, McG further reveals his plans to have the movie set in 2011, pre-Judgment Day. Skynet has figured out how to send non-Infliltrator Terminators such as Hunter-Killers and Harvesters through Time Displacement EquipmentJohn Connor is also sent back through time to fight the machines using present day military tactics and technology. While in the past, he meets up with the scientist played by Robert Patrick. [2] Rumors have been circulating that the next film will take place in modern day London, despite the fact that Terminator 3 shows Judgment Day happening in 2004. [3]

McG also hinted that John could very well end up meeting his mother Sarah upon going back in time. [4]

Love it or hate it this vision is not going to do any good if kept the way it is. There are a few rules which you should never cross. Rules define existence and if you break rule then you loose definition. Unlike the media branding which always projects breaking rules as something heroic-it is not so if not done decisively. And that is exactly what I must suggest to McG when he is hell bent on breaking rules even before he fully understands the rules that define the Franchise.

Anyway the focus of this post is not McG bashing but to see how Terminator 5 can be a less Epic fail than it already is.So lets roll………. Read more…

Black Hole SUN

“No one seems to get this, but “Black Hole Sun” is sad. But because the melody is really pretty, everyone thinks it’s almost chipper, which is ridiculous.”    – Chris Cornell , SoundGarden

Press reports say that Oracle has agreed to buy Sun for $9.50/share. This comes after the negotiations with IBM failed at an advanced stage. Now I usually do not write about corporate matters in my personal blog because clearly I wish to keep it free from mad people injecting it with unnecessary legal greenpaper with or without purpose, reason or practicality. But there are times when I feel that the thoughts are so overwhelming, its better to put it down so that something good might come out of it. That is the reason why I shared my views on the dismal state of yahoo to the readers sometime back. Now since I brought this up,just a small update, but yahoo seems to be limping back to its good days slowly. But that may or may not be a topic of a future rant. We are discussing the recent acquisition of SUN.Also I sincerely implore you to agree to THIS before you read it further. If you do not agree you must stop reading and go HERE.

SUN- According to google image search !

We cannot imagine the world without the sun and I cannot imagine the IT world without SUN. Sun has been iconic with its unix and top notch server systems that power most of the major economies. Also my entire student life during my Bachelors was ridden more with SUN than it was with any other systems. SUN is so much ionic that even text books take it as a standard. And I have not even discussed its business potentials and technical specialities. Now UNIX and servers systems were not its only selling points. SUN is equally (probably more) famous to the newer generations for something called Java. The programming language in its entirety revolutionized dynamic web content and set up an industry precedence and cult following which soon exploded into mass adoptions and implementations across all devices large or small. A major mobile community thrives on Java and Java based games and applications and a modern mobile is not considered worth the money if it doesn’t support Java. So apparently they were doing well !

Not this Java you moron........

Why I chose to ignore the blasts ?

July 29, 2008 1 comment

Bangalore is my city.I earn and live here.Anything that happens bothers me as much as it does all others here.Similarly India is my country and ahmedabad/Surat is just a part of it.Right after the blasts the blogosphere exploded with analysis, opinions, condolences, confusion and lots of other activities that gave the entire incident a separate attention than what the visual media already shoved down your throat in the name of TRP.You want it or not there were blast news everywhere followed by condemning and empty promises from political leaders to bring the guilty to justice. Been about two years since the last mumbai blasts,no one knows who did it.Same with the rajasthan blasts….. Read more…

As I ride the wave of next gen Cell phones….

June 26, 2008 2 comments

Its been 6 years since I have owned a cellphone.I remember the days when a nokia 3310 used to sell for a premium price of 10k and used to be the holy grail of mobile phones out there…reason? it had an internal antenna…that means you do not have a stick poking in your nose when you answer or make a call trying to look hip in a public place.Frankly not many people in my country used to own a cell phone back then and the moment one flashed out one in a public place, you were bound to become an attention magnet.I got my first cell when I was doing my third year in engineering. After a lot of convincing and citing some fancy reasons I finally got one-a Sagem MW3020-a cute little silver colored handfull with its dick sticking out like its cheap-o brothers at that time. The rich kids in my college had Sony Ericssons.Didn’t knew or understood too much about cellphones and cellular technology back then but the ads of Sony Ericsson in the television were glossy enough to give a ‘middle-class’ upbringing the sparkle of desire in the eye.And Sony Ericsson T610 was ruling the roost back then.Compact dimensions and extreme multimedia capabilities including a camera-what else could a mortal ask for ?Numerous times I watched those ads and thought that if I ever make money I am going to get one for myself. But since my pocket and luck both are in a constant cometition of hitting new lows since my birth,I had my dick tied to the MW3020. Read more…

Achmed’s evil brotha’s are bak-so am I……..

Creative minds think and so does the peddlers of terror. The one that started out with a cause has now totally become a mindless tool of celebrating diwali all year round.’Jihad’ used to be dying for a holy cause … now theres no jihad, only underpaid benched terrorist who are probably outsourcing their lab experiments. They kill still, but they donot die for a holy cause, usually they do something very random and apparently very stupid but kill a hell lot of people. It appears that any sort of a security is just too less to contain them.Do we need massive public monitoring systems as they have set up in Japan and Europe where a dedicated group of security personell will stare at every passer by and try to determine if this guy has ever fu*ked a goat in the remote tribal caves of Afganistan? Should we ramp up and implement a political counterattack on Pakistan ? Or may be its a good idea to just use pakistan and Afganistan for random testing of some of our nuclear arsenal! Read more…
